Kiev Entry Requirements

Kiev Entry Requirements

Visa, immigration, and customs information

Important Notice Entry requirements can change at any time. Always verify current requirements with official government sources before traveling.
Information last reviewed October 2024. Always verify with official government sources before traveling.
Entering Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, requires understanding the country's specific entry regulations. Most travelers from Western nations can enter Ukraine visa-free for short tourist or business visits, typically up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Upon arrival, visitors must pass through immigration control where passports are checked and entry stamps are issued. Travelers should ensure their passport is valid for at least three months beyond their planned departure date from Ukraine. Before traveling to Kyiv, visitors should verify their specific entry requirements based on nationality, as Ukraine has different visa policies for different countries. The immigration process at Boryspil International Airport (KBP) or Kyiv Zhuliany International Airport (IEV) is generally straightforward, but travelers should be prepared with necessary documentation including proof of sufficient funds for their stay (approximately €50-100 per day), return/onward tickets, and accommodation details. Border guards may ask about the purpose and duration of your visit. It's important to note that entry requirements can change, and the ongoing situation in Ukraine means travel conditions may differ from standard procedures. Some land border crossings may have restrictions or different operating hours. Always check the latest information from official Ukrainian government sources and your home country's travel advisory before departure.
